About LEL > Customer Action Program
Each SOP developed for LEL customers address five dynamic challenges:
I. Cost Reduction:
The LEL plan is designed to provide cost reduction while enhancing quality. LEL
engineers a plan via use of sophisticated modeling software developed by i2. The
result provides Leading Edge the framework for our ability to guarantee cost
reduction to our customer.
II. Service Improvement:
We provide a solution that increases service levels, and insulates the
individual components of the supply chain from failure. We have primary and
secondary vendors with significant assets, as well as contingency plans for any
negative event. Our record of demonstrated superior customer satisfaction
reflects our belief that it is “People-Process-Technology and Relationships,”
which drives continuous improvement.
III. Seamless Integration:
Integrated logistics management requires participation of the logistics team at
every level of the customer’s organization. This includes purchasing,
engineering, manufacturing, accounting, inventory management, etc. The first
order of business when reviewing an opportunity is analyzing the customer's
present method of distribution, market area, density, and freight cost. We have
identified a vision with pre-planning for future programs. It has also entailed
significant data analysis on the operation to further develop an overall
understanding and vision.
IV. Variability:
The LEL solution provides a framework that does not penalize the customer in the
event of seasonal changes in national truck movements or a spike in business.
The LEL plan provides predictability in price and forecasts. Opportunity also
exists to add or change plant sourcing without transport cost penalty to the
operation or to the cost model developed for the new sourcing plan.
V. Visibility
In this era of lean manufacturing it is increasingly critical that organizations
have visibility to their freight. LEL provides web-based tracking of all
shipments, regardless of mode…domestic or international. We believe that proper
logistics planning can provide significant cost saving efficiencies in the
supply chain. As featured below:
